The Food & Wine Festival at Busch Gardens theme park in Williamsburg, Virginia is a great way to try new cuisines, which is what my family did with Turkish cuisine.
See, the way the festival is set up is that there are special pop-up booths placed all over the park. Most of the booths represent a different nation or area’s cuisine. Last year, the Food & Wine Festival debuted a new booth: Turkey.
It was a wonderful way for my family to try Turkish cuisine, which we were unfamiliar with. We really liked the Turkey booth when we tried it last year, so we are glad it was back for 2025.
If you haven’t tried it, we recommend it. You’ll realize more why we recommend it as you read this blog entry. We go over the food and drinks you can try at the Turkey marketplace (including our favorites, of course!) and give you a helpful tip about drinks. And as always, we give you some money-saving tips from your trip.

Our Favorite Menu Items
Beef & Lamb Döner Kebab
Let’s start with the Döner Kebab.
This is a dish that could work well as an entree if you are wanting a meal at the festival rather than just a snack.
The pita bread was really good and the Feta cheese was amazing (honestly, it was the best part of the Kebab to us). The cucumber was even good, even though we are not huge cucumber fans.
The meat we did not love, though we liked it. The seasoning was something we were not as used to since as I mentioned earlier, we are not overly familiar with Turkish cuisine. Perhaps if we had been we would have liked it more.
Also, one other note about this: for whatever reason, with ours, we only gotten one part of a tomato. So if you order it hoping to there will be a lot of tomatoes, you may be disappointed. You might want to consider instead the next menu item I’m going to talk about.
Çoban Salatası
That menu item is the Çoban Salatası.
The name is Turkish for “shepherd’s salad”. This is a popular salad that originated from Turkish cuisine and Azerbaijani cuisine.
This salad was a huge hit with my family! All of the food was good and delicious, especially the olives, Feta cheese, and tomatoes.
We really liked the dressing, too. It wasn’t too spicy (which was good since not everyone in my family likes spicy foods). It was a bit like Greek salad dressing but not as spicy.
All of the flavors in this dish went together really well.
Simit
Another menu item we loved was the Simit, which was a Turkish Sesame Bread Ring.
Now, let me just say I am a huge fan of bread. I can also be very picky about my breads.
But I absolutely loved this bread! The taste was a bit different than breads I am used to. And I absolutely loved the taste! It was so delicious that I was sad when it was over.
Mozaik Pasta Tarifi
But as much as I loved that, the menu item that my family all loved the most was the Mozaik Pasta Tarifi.
This consists of a tea biscuit, chocolate cake, and pistachio. And wow was it delicious! The tastes blended together perfectly. The chocolate was especially good.
Drink Tip
One note I must make about the drinks. Last year, we enjoyed their Classic Pinot Noir. This year, we wanted to order the Cabernet Sauvignon.
The park opened at 3:00 PM that day and it was less than two hours after that. But they said the Cabernet Sauvignon was sold out! I don’t know if they just didn’t have it that day, or if it is just that popular.
Even so, I think if you want to try the Cabernet Sauvignon, don’t delay!
