Stockholm. Sweden is a city built on 14 islands.  In the Archipelago just outside the city is a cluster of approximately 30,000 islands, islets and rock.  The best way to explore the Archipelago is by kayak.  This is a not-to-be missed experience in Stockholm.

Your guide will give you safety information and basic paddling techniques before you set off on your kayak adventure.  Gaze upon the calm, clear and mirror like waters.

Some of the islands are large enough to support a village while some have room for only one tree.  Moose, roe deer, fallow deer, and red fox live on the larger islands and swim between them.  Be on the lookout for them as well as grey seals out fishing in the waters.  The skies are dotted with migratory birds such as cormorants, geese, ospreys, Arctic terns, eider, and loons.

See the rugged scenery with rocky cliffs, forests, pristine beaches, and narrow passageways.  You’ll stop on one of the sunniest and most protected islands for a freshly prepared lunch.  You can go swimming or sunbathe if you wish.  Following the lunch break, you’ll continue paddling around the islands, exploring the Archipelago further before returning to Stockholm.
