It’s not a hyperbole to say that the illumi event taking place right now in Mississauga is a big deal.
After all, illumi is not just the biggest the biggest light and sound show in the Greater Toronto area – it’s the biggest light and sound show in the world!
Toronto Star called it and “Out of this world light show” and City News Toronto said “illumi will light up your world!”. So yeah, definitely a big deal.
Because the lights really are incredible. It’s not just lights, either. These lights make up shapes that are iconic to the holiday season. You’ll walk along reindeer, snowmen, snowflakes, candy canes, and more – all made up of Christmas lights!
There are actually 16 difference magical universes throughout the event. This includes the Winter Wonderland, the Candy Cane Tunnel, Dune Palace, the Infinite Poles, and more. All of these holiday lights are brought to life with twenty million lights.
Though perhaps the biggest deal of all at illumi is the Christmas tree. The illumi Tree of Lights. It is the world’s largest tree of lights. It is 47 meters tall – and to give you an idea of how large that is, it is twice the size of the Rockefeller Centre Christmas Tree in New York City!
This event really puts you in the mood for Christmas. Santa Claus will also be at the event. However, if you want to see the Big Guy himself, you’ll need to visit sooner rather than later. He’ll only be there until December 24th. After all, Santa deserves some time off after Christmas, don’t you think?
