The Christmas season has truly arrived in Lisbon, Portugal. And we know this because the the Fabulous Christmas Circus is here!
The Fabulous Christmas Circus (or “O Fabuloso Circo de Natal”) is currently at the Immersivus Gallery. It started today, actually. The event runs from 1 December 2021 through 8 January 2022.
It is a Christmas circus, but it is not a circus in the traditional sense. It is actually a virtual circus. The Fabulous Christmas Circus is a 360-degree immersive audiovisual experience. The circus artistic acts are not performed live by real animals and performers since it is virtual.
Instead, it is special animated animal and human characters. All of this is done in a very creative way. You’ll get to see a clown, magician, and orchestra, but is done by performers from all over the world virtually. You become mesmerized by national and international artists.
Your whole journey is guided by the voice of Nuno Markl, the famous national radio host. He’ll take you inside a circus tent.
The whole event makes wonderful use of art and technology. You get to step in fully mapped galleries with multimedia content. They are projected on the walls, ceiling, and floor. This creates a huge space filled with brilliant colors and animations.
This event is a great combination of the magic of Christmas with the spectacle of a circus. And that makes an event both adults and children alike can enjoy.
