Are you thinking about a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida for the holiday season?  Then might I suggest a stay at Disney’s All Star Sports Resort?

We think this could make a great place to stay for your holiday trip.  My family has stayed there the last couple years during the holiday season and we’ve had a wonderful time.

Let me share with you all the reasons why.

You Get All The Perks Of Staying At A Disney Hotel

One reason my family likes staying at All Star Sports is you get all the perks of staying at a Disney hotel.  The main perk we love is Disney’s dedicated bus system.  This means there are buses coming around every twenty minutes or so all day.

This really gives you a lot of flexibility during your day.  For example, let’s say you like taking a nap during the day (whether this is for your children or for you).  You can take the bus back to the hotel in the middle of the day and then go back to the park at night.

You can’t get this with offsite shuttles to the park.  Those shuttles generally drop people off at a few scheduled times in the morning and then peak people up at a few scheduled times in the evening.

This is also important if you are planning on attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.  We talk more about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in this guide.  This is an after-hours holiday event at the Magic Kingdom that is not included in park tuition.  The party starts at 7:00 PM, but if you buy a ticket to the party you are allowed to enter the park starting at 4:00 PM.  That means you could always not buy a Disney World park ticket for that day and then just enter the park at 4:00 PM.  If you are staying onsite, the shuttle can take you to the party then, but that’s not the case if you are staying offsite when the last shuttle to take you to the parks is often in the morning.

So that’s just one of the perks of staying onsite at an official Disney hotel.  We go over a full list of Disney hotel perks here.

So you might be thinking, that’s a great reason to stay at a Disney hotel.  But why All Star Sports?

You Get The Disney Hotel Perks At A Cheaper Price

See, All Star Sports is considered a “value hotel”.  That means it has the cheapest prices for all Disney hotels (and that means cheap compared to other Disney hotels – not really cheap compared to non-Disney hotels).

Although, it truthfully can be pretty cheap.  It was cheap for my family the last time we stayed there because we booked our stay here.  We hadn’t seen prices that low since before the pandemic.  This really is the best site to book your Disney hotel stay.  The prices are cheaper than what you would find on Disney’s website, even if you get a passholder discount!

Holiday Decorations at All Star Sports

But price isn’t the only reason to choose All Star Sports during the holiday season.  I also really like the holiday decorations at All Star Sports.

That starts with the All Star Sports Christmas tree in the lobby.

I love how the Christmas tree at the All Star Sports Resort in Disney World in Orlando, Florida has sports decorations on it.

It is not only a pretty Christmas tree, but I love the sports decorations on the tree like the basketball, baseball, football, and soccer ball ornaments.  It makes the Christmas tree really fit the hotel.

And seeing sports decorations on a holiday tree really makes a lot of sense.  If your family likes sports like my family does, then you may associate sports with the holidays.  There are NFL games on Thanksgiving.  There are college basketball tournaments over Thanksgiving weekend.  You can watch NBA games on Christmas, and college football bowl games on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.  Even the World Cup in 2022 was during the holiday season, and I thought that was really fun to watch that time of year.

So looking at the tree can bring back really great memories of spending the holidays with your family over the years watching sports.  And isn’t that part of the reason we all love Disney World so much?  The great memories we associate with our visits?

But I am getting a tad off track here.  Back to the decorations.  The holiday decorations at Disney’s All Star Sports Resort don’t stop with the Christmas tree.  The lobby is also decorated with beautiful Christmas wreaths.  They’re also decorated with the hotel theming in mind.

I love the soccer balls and other sports decorations on the holiday wreath in the lobby of Disney's All Star Sports Resort, a surprisingly affordable Disney World hotel.

I love all the Christmas wreaths in the lobby of Disney's All Star Sports Resort in Orlando, FL.

Christmas wreaths line the walls of the lobby of the All Star Sports Resort in Disney World in Orlando, FL during the holiday season.

There are wreaths with the specific sports featured in the hotel in mind, like this tennis wreath.

The All Star Sports Resort in Disney World is themed to different sports and its holiday decorations reflect that, like this tennis Christmas wreath.

Or this football-themed wreath.

I love how there are Christmas wreaths during the holiday season at the lobby of Disney's All Star Sports themed to popular sports, like the American football themed wreath here.

There’s also a baseball-centric Christmas wreath.

Disney's ALl Star Sports hotel in the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida has lots of Christmas wreaths in their lobby during the holiday season, like this baseball one.

Oh, wait – did I mention the hotel has different sections themed to different sports?  There are five different sections in the hotel: a football section, a surfing section, a tennis section, a basketball section, and a baseball section.  We talk about the advantages (and disadvantages) of each section here.

Conclusion

Choosing to stay at Disney’s All Star Sports for your holiday season Disney World trip is an affordable way to save money on your hotel while getting all the perks of staying onsite.  But additionally, it is great because of the wonderful holiday decorations throughout the hotel’s lobby.
