2020 is the Year of the Rat according to the Chinese Zodiac calendar. Each year, the Chinese Community Center of Houston celebrates the New Year with a massive festival and this year is the biggest ever! The 2020 Lunar New Year Festival will take place on January 25 in Houston Chinatown. The epic Dragon and Lion dances will be performed as well as other cultural performances. Traditional food, games, raffles, artistry and more will be showcased. And, by the way, it’s free!
The 24th annual Texas Lunar New Year Celebration takes place on January 25, 2020. They will celebrate the new Year and the impressive qualities of every culture around the world. Thousands of Texans come to Houston every year for this festival. There will be Asian entertainment, international entertainment, delicious cuisine, lighting firecrackers and giving money in red envelopes. Admission is free.
You can also celebrate the Year of the Rat on February 1 and 2, 2020, at the Viet Hoa Center in Houston. There will be over 100 Lion and Dragon dancers and one million Lucky Red Firecrackers.
