When the day turns to night in Doswell, Virginia, the spooks will come out at Kings Dominion. Yes, it’s that time of year when you can visit Kings Dominion’s annual Halloween Haunt. It’s a nighttime event on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays when the family theme park is transformed into a scary place that is fun for tweens, teens, and adults.
In addition to spooky decorations, there are lots of attractions and other things that make Halloween Haunt so popular. I’m going to tell you about some of them. And then I’ll tell you how you can save money on your tickets!
Outdoor Mazes & Scare Zones
Cornstalkers: Blood Harvest
Over on International Street, you can find Dominion Farms. It’s a place to get fresh vegetables and pasture-raised meat. There’s even a corn maze. This sounds nice and peaceful. Or is it…?
Cleaver Brothers Carnival
The Cleaver Brothers are inviting you to experience a very unique carnival over at Grove Midway. But this is not like the carnivals from your childhood. No, this will make your nightmares seem tame by comparison.
Pumpkin Eater
During the last years of the American Revolution, something happened that may not be in your history books. The spirit of a dead soldier possessed pumpkin farmer Peter Armstrong, causing him to murder his wife with a bayonet. Not just that, but the evil spirit in his body caused him to become a pumpkin-like creature. Once people become his victims, they’ll be transformed, too. So now you’ll have to escape from these creatures with jack-o-lantern faces over in Old Virginia.
Site X
This outdoor scare zone takes place at Jungle X-Pedition. And when the Jungle X-Pediiton crew excavated this site, they unearthed something sinister. The jungle began to transform them. Don’t let it transform you.
Uprising
The Doswell Survivors Society over on Center Street wants to help keep you safe from the zombies. But be aware you need to proceed with caution – or you will become their next meal.
Masquerade
What may be the most prestigious ball ever thrown is happening in Old Virginia Arbor. But it’s not like the kind of ball you might expect. This is a ball where the evil Queen Majesty wants to prove that every person – and demon – will follow her plan. So just beware who – or what – is behind each mask.
GrimmWoods
You can find fairy tales coming to life near Grizzly at GrimmWoods. But these are the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. And those fairy tales weren’t just happy endings. So this is more of a haunted trail – can you make it out alive?
Indoor Haunted Mazes

Here you’ll find yourself deep in a nightmare, and there seemingly is no way to escape. You’ll be confronted by all those things that go bump in the night.

Close: Condemned
Have you heard the urban legend about Darkside Manor? Some people say there was a wedding celebration that did not turn out well. Some people say that guests checked in and were never seen again. At any rate, it’s time for you to discover the secrets of this now-condemned hotel.
You can find this haunted maze in Action Theater.
Trick or Treat
A clan of witches has started a halfway house for wayward souls on Hemlock Lane. They want it to be a welcoming place for their victims. But you may not find it so welcoming. In fact, you may find it downright terrifying instead.
You can find this indoor haunted maze near the Drop Tower.
Blood on the Bayou
Have you heard about the horrors that once filled the bayou? The locals won’t even talk about it. You just hear whispers of voodoo priests and curses. But there sure seems to be evil there, and that evil wants new visitors. Will you oblige?
You’ll find this indoor haunted maze near WindSeeker.
