About Kennywood

Founded in 1898 and updated many times, Kennywood Park has provided unforgettable fun for all ages for over 120 years.  The Park offers a unique mix of classic rides and modern thrills, including 8 roller coasters.

Thrill seekers will love Thunderbolt, called “King of Coasters” and “Ultimate Roller Coaster” by the New York Times.  Dare devils love Phantom’s Revenge and The Exterminator.

The little ones will enjoy Kiddieland and its 14 rides.  The whole family will enjoy a Thomas train ride with stunning views of the Monongahela River.

Paddle boats on the Park’s lagoon is a tradition dating back to 1898.  On hot days, water rides like the Pittsburg Plunge and Raging Rapids will cool you off.

See the LEGO movie in the 4-D Theater or check out the entertaining shows on Kennywood’s stages.  With more than 30 refreshment stands and snack carts plus the historic Parkside Café, there’s something here to please everyone.

One of the newer parts of the park is Steeler Country.  This is a delight to all Pittsburgh Steelers fans.  Exclusive merchandise, skill games and dining locations, including a unique tailgating experience. This gives you the feeling of being at Heinz Field.

The crown jewel of Steeler Country is the MVP of roller coasters, the Steel Curtain. This colossal steel structure rises to 220 feet and speeds through 4,000 feet of track at 75 mph.  It navigates 9 inversions including the world’s tallest inversion at 197 feet.  Ride if you dare.
