Canada Day (Fete du Canada in French) is the national day of Canada and is a federal statutory holiday.  It is often referred to informally as “Canada’s birthday.”

You’ll be in the heart of Ottawa’s Canada Day celebration at LeBreton Flats Park.  Get a front row seat to the daytime ceremony, the Royal Canadian Air Force Centennial flypast, the evening show and Tim Hortons Canada Day Fireworks.

See dance performances and maybe learn a few steps.

Big Foot Soccer

Two teams play soccer with giant shoes and a giant soccer ball.  Laughter and fun are guaranteed!

Canada Day’s Daytime Ceremony

The ceremony will begin with a moment of Indigenous reflection.  In the run up to the Olympics, it will feature Ottawa athletes.  See artist Marie-Mai on stage.  Admire the RCAF ceremonial flypast.  This will be broadcast on Radio-Canada and CBC platforms.    

12 pm to 1:30 pm

Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Centennial Flypast

This will be a really impressive demonstration in the skies over Ottawa.

1 pm to 1:15 pm

Outdoor Screening of Short Films 

Enjoy a captivating selection of short films by Canadian artists.  Discover the best of the Canadians short films.

5 pm to 6:45 pm

Evening Show Canada Day Feel The Rhythm!

A two hour concert will be hosted by Isabelle Racicot.  A variety of popular and emerging artists will share the stage.  You can hear this show on Radio Canada and CBC platforms.

8 pm to 10 pm

Tim Hortons Canada Day Fireworks

This colorful display can be enjoyed from many locations in Ottawa.

10 pm to 10:15 pm
