The annual stock car race, the Brickyard 400 in the NASCAR Cup Series is happening on Sunday, July 5, 2020, in Indianapolis. The first Brickyard 400 was held in August, 1994. A native of Pittsboro, Indiana, Jeff Gordon won that race and led with an amazing 93 of the 160 total laps. Gordon is the biggest winner here with 5 wins at the Brickyard 400, the most recent being in 2014. The 2019 winner of the Brickyard was Kevin Harvick.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway hosts the Indianapolis 500 every year and has the largest seating capacity of any racing venue in the world. There is so much to see and do around the track which was named a National Historic Site in 1987. It got the name “The Brickyard” because the track was originally made entirely out of brick. Today only the start/finish line is brick.
The race will be an exciting finale to a great Fourth Of July weekend. Experience the rush of NASCAR in person and purchase your tickets now through Stubhub to get the lowest available price.
