The Branson Ferris Wheel

The Branson Ferris Wheel has an interesting history.  It originally started its life as the iconic Navy Pier Ferris Wheel in Chicago.  The Navy Pier Ferris Wheel was inspired by the original observation wheel that was designed for the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago back in 1893.  It was meant to be an American engineering marvel the same way the recently completed Eiffel Tower was for France.  The legacy of this original Ferris wheel is that Ferris wheels all over the world are still popular.

But in 2015, Chicago wanted to make room for an even bigger Ferris Wheel.  So the famous Navy Pier Ferris Wheel in Chicago made a move – right to Branson, Missouri!  And now you can ride it whenever you travel to Branson.

And it is the perfect place to see the beautiful Ozark Mountains!  You get great views of Branson’s famous entertainment corridor, too.  That is because it stands 150 feet high!  So it is great during the day.

But it also really special at night.  16,000 LED lights light up the sky in a Music and Light Spectacular!  Each light is controlled by computers and it can light up the Branson sky in an array of not only colors but animations, too.

The show runs at every hour on the hour once in turns dark, as long as the weather permits.  If you happen to be in your car when it happens, make sure you turn into 90.9 FM.  You can listen to Electrify right from your car!

There are forty gondolas on the Ferris Wheel.  Up to six passengers can get on one gondola.  It is a continuous run, though it can be stopped for passenger assistance if needed.
