It’s been a hundred years since archaeologists discovered King Tut’s tomb in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. So now is the perfect time to learn about the life of Tutankhamun. And you can do just that at a new exhibit in Boston, Massachusetts!
This exhibit is National Geographic’s Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience. It has nine multi-sensory galleries that help tell the 3,300-year-old story of the life of a king. You enter into a recreation of his burial chamber. From there, you walk though the story of King Tut’s life and death. You travel through different stages of King Tut’s Journey into the underworld.
The final room has soaring projections of King Tut’s treasures. They are larger than life with cutting-edge clarity, so you get to see all the exquisite detail and artistry of these ancient items. It really is an amazing experience. You also get to experience ancient wonders like the Temple at Karnak, the Pyramids of Giza, and the Great Sphinx.
Beyond King Tut takes place at SoWa Power Station at 550 Harrison Ave in Boston, Massachusetts. On Sunday through Thursday, the event is open from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The last entry into the event is at 8:00 PM. On Fridays and Saturdays, it is open later, from 10:00 Am to 10:00 PM. But the final entry is at 9:00 PM. It is a self-guided tour so you can stay as long as you want (but not past closing time!). The event will run through October 2, 2022.
