This summer has been hot, and it’s probably not cooling off anytime soon. So why not instead cool yourself off by getting in the nice cool water? You can do just that at Mountain Creek Waterpark in Vernon, New Jersey!
Mountain Creek Waterpark is a really neat waterpark for multiple reasons. For starters, it’s a great waterpark with lots of attractions (more on those later). But it’s also great because of its location. It is in a picturesque mountain setting. And it’s just an hour away from New York City. So it is so convenient to so many people.
But back to the attractions. They have a lot of great rides, slides, and more that are both cooling and entertaining.
If you’ve ever wanted to try cliff diving, thee are multiple attractions you can try here. There is Bombs Away, which features a steep 18-foot freefall into a pool below. And the appropriately named Canyon Cliff Jump features two different size cliffs you can jump off in front of spectators. It can be quite refreshing when you hit the water!
You’ll feel like you’ve gone out west on the whitewater rafting ride, Colorado River. And speaking of going out west, you’ll feel like you’re in California at the High Tide Wave Pool. You can enjoy bodysurfing there – or relaxing on the Wavepool deck.
Then there is Thunder Struck, which is a wild tandem ride filled with twists, turns and even surprise drops. The Gauley is a solo tube ride with lots of turns and drops. The Vortex is a raft attraction you can ride solo or with a friend that features dark tunnels and high speeds. Vertigo is a double tube that has pitch-black darkness, tight curves, and steep drops.
Surf Hill is an eight-lane head-first racing slide that was actually built into the natural contours of the mountain. There are 180° and 360° curves on the classic thriller attraction Alpine Rush. You’ll plummet 99 feet down a near-vertical body slide on H2-Oh-No!
And then, of course, there’s Zero-G. On this attraction, you’ll be standing one hundred feet above the ground admiring views of New York City – when all of a sudden a trapdoor opens beneath your feet and you’re on the world’s tallest double-looping thrill slide.
But they also have great rides for younger guests, too (the four feet tall and smaller). There’s a kid-size lazy river, Lost Island River. Sprayground is an interactive area for kids with water play features. The Fishing Village is an Adirondack fishing shanty-themed multi-level interactive water play fort with slides, spray jets, and two waterfalls. And you can ride along with your child in the two-person tube slide attraction The Hook.
So I figure at this point, you’ll want to go to Mountain Creek Waterpark. And the good news is, you can find some great coupons for Mountain Creek Waterpark here. You can save 44% on admission. And no coupon code or promo code is even needed since the discount is automatic!
