I love Halloween-themed events this time of the year. But if you have kids (or you are a scaredy cat like me), then some of the scarier attractions are off-limits.
Luckily, though, there are some great Halloween events that won’t scare your family. And it just so happens one of those events starts tonight. And that is Peace, Love & Pumpkins!
Yes, Peace, Love & Pumpkins is back for its second year at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, New York. If this location sounds familiar to you, its probably because it was the location for the 1969 Woodstock Music & Art Fair. And they are putting on a great, family-friendly event.
It is a Halloween walk-thru experience. You’ll wind through Bethel Woods’ garden trails. Along the way, you’ll marvel at glowing-themed pumpkin art and thousands of unique hand-carved jack-o-lanterns. The displays have Woodstock festival icons throughout. This includes mermaids, dinosaurs, witches, and more.
Worried you’ll get tired walking through the garden trails? Well, don’t worry, because halfway through the trail, you can take a rest. You can get a drink and snack while you warm up by the fire.
And on select nights, you can even enjoy live music! The performances are from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Here is a schedule:
- Jon Zanger: Friday, October 14, 2022
- Gabe Rikard: Saturday, October 15, 2022
- Albi Beluli: Sunday, October 16, 2022
- Chris Raabe: Friday, October 21, 2022
- Vito Petroccitto: Saturday, October 22, 2022
- John Reddan: Sunday, October 23, 2022
- Julian Giaimo: Friday, October 28, 2022
- Dan Brother: Saturday, October 29, 2022
- Robert Tellefsen: Sunday, October 30, 2022
Once you get through the trail, even more fun is in store. There is a free hay maze for children, live pumpkin carving demonstrations, and carving kits you can take home.
The event takes place at night from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Even though it runs through 10:00 PM, the last entry is at 9:00 PM.
This is a great event that kids and adults can enjoy. And adults will especially like the great discount ticket deal I’m about to tell you about!

Please note that while this event isn’t normally scary, there are two nights that are Fright Nights. That is October 21, 2022, & October 28, 2022. These are designated Friday Night Frights at Peace, Love & Pumpkins and this event is not recommended for kids.
