Looking for fun fall and Halloween activities for kids in the New York City area? Then head to New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx, New York. Because they have a great daytime event called Scarecrows and Pumpkins!
Scarecrows & Pumpkins takes place at the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden. You can take a walk through the trails at the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden. Friendly (and not-so-friendly) scarecrows will greet you during your walk.
You can participate in a scavenger hunt where you look for signs of fall in the garden. The Discovery Center plaza is full of a variety of specimens in the cucurbit family. This means you and your family can look at pumpkins and gourds up close!
Guided activities take place on weekdays from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM. On weekends, they take place from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM. This is where you can learn about spooky critters like spiders and bats. You’ll find out their important role in the ecosystem. Kids can also enjoy listening to autumn tales at the Swamp Oak Story Post. You get the opportunity to post your own festive fall plant. Then you can take the plant home! And you even get to peek inside a pumpkin and create your own fizzing pumpkin experiment – which you can also take home!
