New York City is one of the best (if not the best!) place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day outside of Ireland.  This is because there are so many fun St. Patrick’s Day events going on around NYC.  We’re going to tell you about twelve of the best.  These take place either on St. Patrick’s Day or leading up to St. Patrick’s Day.

1. New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade

One of the greatest and longest traditions in New York City is the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.  The first parade took palce on March 17, 1762.  Yes, you read that right – before the Declaration of Independence was even signed.

It will take place this year on Saturday, March 16th, at 11:00 AM.  It starts on 5th Avenue at 44th Street and ends on 5th Avenue at 79th Street.  You can find out more information here.

2. St. Patrick’s Day Party Cruise

Perhaps comedy is more your thing than horror.  Then check out All St. Paddy’s Comedy – The Stand-Up Comedy Night for the Shamrock Season.  It takes place at the at Triad Theater.  The show features some of the hottest East Coast up-and-coming comedians.  You may have seen these comedians on America’s Got Talent, Netflix, or MTV.

11. Pre-St. Patrick’s Day Shamrockin’ Singles Party
