Jerk is a style of cooking native to Jamaica in which meat is dry rubbed or wet marinated with a hot spice mixture called Jamaican jerk spice. Jerked meat has a smoky taste and that is achieved using various cooking methods including a modern wood burning oven. The meat used is usually chicken or pork. The main ingredients of the spicy jerk marinade are allspice and Scotch bonnet peppers. It may also include cloves, nutmeg, garlic, cinnamon, brown sugar, ginger and salt.

Be sure to come to the JerkFest hungry because there will be food vendors selling mouth watering spicy treats with Jamaican jerk. The Caribbean dishes will pack plenty of flavor for your mouth and the music will entertain your ears.

Kids under 12 will be admitted free of charge. There will be a Kids Zone with games and activities for children. There will also be custom fine arts and crafts booths providing a great shopping experience.

So grab your friends and family and come celebrate food and music. It will be an afternoon of live entertainment, delicious food and great company – what more could anyone ask for?
