Celebrate the cuisines, the music, the history and the rich cultural traditions of the Caribbean islands at the 4th Annual Taste of the Caribbean Festival. It will be happening on Labor Day Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Crown Festival Park in Sugar Land, Texas.

Treat your palate to the diversity of flavors and spices of succulent, savory Caribbean dishes. The food will be as diverse as the Caribbean itself. Enjoy Cuban pork roast, Jamaican jerk chicken, delicious curry of Trinidad & Tobago and so much more. There will be food vendors at the Festival with cuisines from different Caribbean islands.

Live Music at the Festival

There will be live performances throughout the day. You’ll hear reggae, salsa, bachata, soca (a blend of soul and calypso), reggaeton, merengue, Punta, Zouk and the soft sounds of steel drums. Performers include

Denise Belfon

Born in Trinidad, Denise is a soca/dancehall/Afrobeats artiste. She’s known as the “Whining Queen” for her flexible waist and hip movements on stage. Her hits include “Work,” “Indian Man,” “Saucy Baby” and “Hard Wuk.”

Serani

Serani is a Jamaican dancehall singer and producer. He’s best known for his single “No Games.”

Askel Redsquare

Askel is a Dancehall/Soca/Reggae/Hip Hop/R&B artist. His hits include “Bend Down Low,” “Giwey” and “Have Dung Dey.”

Nasaricans

A Puerto Rican Rap/Reggae duo, they’ve brought a new style and flavor to the Houston Hip Hop and Latin locas music scene.

There will be vendors with distinctive crafts and regional artwork. Feel the classic Caribbean vibes all day. An afternoon of live entertainment, delicious food and great company – what more could you want?

Sugar Land is approximately 20 miles southwest of downtown Houston. Towns within 15 miles of Sugar Land include Stafford, Weston Lakes, Sienna Plantation, Meadows Place, Katy, Pleak, Bellaire, Richmond, Fresno, Missouri City and Thompsons.
