The Roosevelt Hotel has a long history, opening its doors in 1893. Governor and then Senator Huey P. Long used a 12th floor suite as his Louisiana headquarters and New Orleans residence.

Its Blue Room opened in 1935 and became the premiere music venue in New Orleans. Performers in the Blue Room include Guy Lombardo, Glenn Miller, Sammy Kaye and Tommy Dorsey.

The hotel was damaged by Katrina in 2003 and closed indefinitely. The entire hotel was renovated with modern systems and reopened in 2009 as the Roosevelt New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel. The hotel features historic New Orleans memorabilia, a rooftop pool and a luxury spa.
