Washington’s answer to Comic Con is Awesome Con. And awesome certainly describes their numerous celebrity guests from TV, film, comic authors, voice actors, illustrators, cosplayers and WWE pro wrestlers. Stan Lee will be there. Enough said. There will be an exhibit created with the help of the Smithsonian Institute that explores the interaction of science fiction with real world science. Awesome Con will also have panels and special events to shine a light on LGBTQ artists. There’s an Awesome Con Jr. with entertaining and educational programs for kids including interactive opportunities, a kid’s costume parade and more. They will have the ever-popular costume contest and numerous vendors. So let your geek flag fly at this celebration of comic culture.
