The Giant National Capital Barbecue Battle is coming to Pennsylvania Avenue on June 23 and 24, 2018. The Barbecue will be cooking lots of great food, music and fun.

There will be delicious and FREE barbecue and grilled food samples and microbrew and wine tasting. This 2 day Festival will feature teams competing for cash and prizes throughout the weekend. Contests include the Military Chef Cook Off with a chef representing each branch of the military. Attendees can taste and vote on their favorite BBQ prepared by a Military Chef. There are other contests including Smithfield Rib Contest, Perdue Sizzlin’ Chicken Contest and National Pork BBQ Championship.
There are lots of interactive activities for families and kids of all ages. You’ll see Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest. There will be Sports Actions from Washington Capitals, Mystics, Wizards, Valor, Nationals and Redskins. Celebrity Chefs and Cookbook Authors will entertain and educate with cooking demonstrations on the popular Great Demonstration Stage.
There are three Music Stages and over 30 bands performing Rock, Reggae, Jazz, Blues, R&B and GoGo. This year’s musical line up includes Ocean Park Standoff, Plain White T’s, Be’la Dona, Trouble Funk and many more.
