The Lunar New Year, aka Chinese New Year, is a celebration of the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar and solar Chinese calendar. It falls on a different day each year. This year, it will begin on January 22, 2023, and the celebrations will last 15 days.

2023 is the Year of the Rabbit. It is believed that the animal ruling your birth year influences your personality. Those born in the Year of the Rabbit are said to be ingenious, courteous, witty and quick thinking.

The Grand Sierra Resort is celebrating the Lunar New Year with Dining Specials over the Lunar New Year weekend.

The Grand Buffet

The Grand Buffet is offering a Chinese New Year Buffet on Friday, January 20, from 5 pm to 9 pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 4 pm to 9 pm.

Lion Dances

There will also be Lion Dances on the Grand Sierra Casino floor on Saturday, January 21, at 5 pm and 8 pm and on Sunday, January 22, at 7 pm.
