Sadly, all good things must come to an end and so it is with Foreigner. Their Historic Farewell Tour will kick off this month. Is there a more sorrowful word than “farewell?” But it will be great to have one more chance to rock out with the band and all their greatest hits!

Back in 1976 in New York City, British guitarist Mick Jones brought several musicians together. And the rest is rock history. Really great rock history.

Jones has said he wanted Foreigner to go out while they were still at the top of their game. Very reasonable, but still sad.

Current members of the group include Jones, lead vocalist Kelly Hansen, Michael Bluestein on keyboard, guitarist Bruce Watson, bassist Jeff Pilson, Chris Frazier on drums and guitarist Luis Maldonato.

Foreigner’s many hits include

  • “I Want To Know What Love Is”
  • “Double Vision”
  • “Urgent”
  • “Cold As Ice”
  • “Juke Box Hero”
  • “Say You Will”
  • “Hot Blooded”
  • “Dirty White Boy”
  • “Head Games”
  • “I Don’t Want To Live Without You”
  • “Long, Long Way From Home”
  • “Feels Like The First Time”
  • “Say You Will”
  • “Waiting For A Girl Like You”

Foreigner has had incredible success. The band has racked up numerous Top 10 hits plus 10 multi-platinum albums. Foreigner is considered to be one of the most popular rock acts in the world with their record sales exceeding 80 million. Streams of the band’s hits approach 15 million each week.

With their red leather pants and bandanas, Loverboy will be joining Foreigner on the Farewell Tour. This group still has its original lineup with one exception. Mike Reno is the lead vocalist. He’s joined by Matt Franette on drums, Doug Johnson on keyboard and guitarist Paul Dean. The original bassist was the late Scott Smith. Steve “Spider” Sinnaeve is now the bassist.

Foreigner – Historic Farewell Tour with Loverboy is coming to Toyota Amphitheatre in Wheatland, California, near Sacramento, on August 23, 2023, at 7 pm. Many of the concerts in this tour have already sold out, so don’t delay if you want to go.
