Midsummer Scream is once again creeping into the Long Beach Convention Center, bringing your nightmares to life. This is the world’s largest Halloween and horror convention. Experience all the thrills and chills of All Hallows’ Eve in one summer weekend, on July 29, 30 and 31, 2022.

Midsummer Scream has been described as the horror version of comic.con. It is wildly popular, attracting over 30,000 attendees.

There will be gore and horror themed reenactments throughout the event. Enjoy live horror entertainment with spook shows, burlesque and terrifying tales. There will be a horror short film fest.

Workshops, Seminars & Guests

Workshops and seminars will be offered. There will be panel discussions and presentations. The Original Monster Kids can be seen on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 pm. It includes

  • Ron Chaney, grandson of Lon Chaney, Jr.
  • Sara Karloff, daughter of Boris Karloff
  • Lynne Lugosi Sparks, granddaughter of Bela Lugosi
  • Victoria Price, daughter of Vincent Price

Celebrity guests will be there, including

  • James Jude Courtney, Michael Myers in “The Shape”
  • Christine McConnell, “The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell”
  • Eileen Dietz, “possessed Regan” on “The Exorcist”
  • Jeff Daniels Philips, Herman in Rob Zombie’s “The Munsters”
  • Daniel Roebuck, Grandpa in Rob Zombie’s “The Munsters”
  • Kirk Hammett, vintage horror collector and Metallica lead guitarist
  • Mary Gibbs, Boo from “Monsters, Inc.”

Additional Information

The Hall of Shadows is a low lit area where you can find mini versions of the home and professional haunts that pop up for Halloween. These will give you a taste of what’s to come this fall. You can see more than a dozen haunts from Temecula, Corona Haunts, Fear Farm and more.

New to Midsummer Scream is the Museum of Halloween. You’ll see a display of horror related collectables, artwork and costumes.

There will be more than 350 vendors selling horror themed apparel, creepy home decor, special effects make up, masks and costumes. Costumes and cosplay are highly encouraged.
