A Big Band Christmas Drive-in Concert

If you love going to concerts, 2020 had to be a very disappointing year for you.  And here it is Christmas time.

Well, if you’d like to go to a Christmas concert, and do it safely, nothing works better than seeing a concert at a drive-in.

“Big Band Christmas” Drive-In Concert is coming to California State University San Marcos, Lot F, on December 19 and 20, 2020.

Kick the holiday spirit into high gear with the big band sound in San Marcos.  You and your family can enjoy this in the comfort and safety of your own car.  No large crowds to try to elbow your way through and no worry of being packed in a crowded auditorium.

This magical evening of music features a live 10 piece band with The D. Ben-jamin’ Horns.  A stellar cast of vocalists will be singing the lyrics you love.  You’ll hear holiday favorites, such as “Let It Snow” and “Silent Night.”

Other favorites performed will include “Little Drummer Boy,” “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree,” “Have Yourselves A Merry Little Christmas” and many more.  Duane Benjamin has given Christmas classics exciting new Big Band arrangements.  Feet will be tapping as you hear exciting new swing versions of your favorites.

Duane Benjamin is an accomplished musician, music director, and conductor.  For more than 30 years, he has made his living playing saxophone, electric bass, and arranging music.

Other members of the Big Band cast include Terron Brooks, Mel Collins, Laura Dickenson, and Jim Graft.  Featured dancers are Jeffrey Scott Parsons and Cassie Silva.

This exciting jazz-filled music event will be fun for the entire family.  And, whatever you do, don’t leave early.  You wouldn’t want to miss the “Man with the Bag.”

A portion of every ticket purchased goes to supplement California State University San Marcos School of Arts.
