The Georgia Aquarium in Downtown Atlanta is really swimming in the Christmas spirit this year! The holiday season at the Georgia Aquarium will run from November 15th, 2024, through January 2nd, 2024. They have a lot of great festivities and decorations planned for the season. My family has visited during the holiday season before, and we had a wonderful time. We suspect your family would enjoy it, too – especially with a discounted ticket.
But I am getting ahead of myself. So why is Georgia Aquarium so great during the holiday season? Well, all the great features of the Georgia Aquarium, like the wonderful animals and exhibits, are still there.
But the holiday decorations add a certain special touch to the environment. This starts with the 40-foot Christmas tree in the atrium! Every day during Georgia Aquarium’s holiday event, there is a Holiday Tree Lighting at 10:00 AM. Which makes a great way to start your day!
Santa Claus will also be headed to the Georgia Aquarium this year. And on select days during the event, you can get a photo with Santa! He is available for photos with children of all ages, and he wants to hear their holiday wishes!
But Santa Claus isn’t the one coming – so is Scuba Claus! Did you know that Santa Claus also loves to scuba dive? Well, you’ll see him dive among Georgia Aquarium’s resident whale sharks and manta rays in Ocean Voyager, one of the world’s largest marine habitats. This is available on select dates at 12:00 PM during December.
There will also be Holiday Presentations each day at the Georgia Aquarium. It is a fun, festive way to learn about bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions.
