It’s time to be amazed by holiday lights. And it’s time to participate in a beloved Christmas tradition in the Valley of the Sun. And that event is Phoenix ZooLights!
Phoenix ZooLights, as the name would imply, takes place at the Phoenix Zoo on 455 N Galvin Parkway in Phoenix, Arizona. Phoenix ZooLights is a wonderful nighttime event at the zoo that runs from 5:30-10:30 P.M. It is a seasonal event that began on November 27, 2024. It runs through January 12, 2025.
And as the name would imply, there are lights here. Lots of lights, in fact. As in there are millions of Christmas lights. And the holiday lights are placed creatively throughout the zoo. Thre’s a 200-foot-long light tunnel. The holiday lights make up creative designs like (fittingly) animal sculptures.
And speaking of animals, you may be able to see some of the animals during your time at ZooLights! You can also see over fifty animal lanterns. There’s also a Family Feud: Wild Wonderland Animal Show nightly.
There are also great Christmas additions to this event. This year, there is a new Holiday Globe on the lake near the Children’s Trail that beautifully reflects off of the lake.
There are a lot of great holiday activities here. For example, the Lake Lights Show is an immersive experience with a 50 foot LED tree with lights synchronized to holiday music.
You can also meet Santa Claus. This is a great photo opportunity, by the way, especially if you have kids.
You can also enjoy some of your favorite holiday food and drinks here, like kettle corn and hot cocoa. You can make your own s’mores at the fire pits in Plaza de los Niños. There’s also pop-up Zoo shops or the Desert Marketplace gift shop, which make a great place to visit for holiday shopping.
All in all, this is a wonderful family-friendly winter event.
