Rooterville is an animal sanctuary in Melrose, Florida, a city located between Gainesville & Jacksonville. They are dedicated to providing a safe and loving home for rescued farm animals. They want to provide these animals with a nurturing environment, which is critical given the difficult past these animals may have had.

Haunted Trolley Tour
You can take a haunted trolley tour that takes place in some spooky woods. But this is a family-friendly tour, so the spooks won’t be super intense.
One of the things that makes the tour spooky is that it takes place at night. It takes place from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. It takes place on Friday, October 20, 2023; Saturday 21, 2023; Friday, October 27, 2023; and Saturday, October 28, 2023. Please note this is a weather-permitting experience.
Boo at the Roo
Boo at the Roo is a family-friendly Halloween event. Fun Halloween inflatables will be decorated throughout the farm. There are pumpkins and a hay bale maze.
There will be a Halloween costume contest. Awards given include Best Costume, Most Original Costume, and Cutest Costume. If you don’t have a costume yet, you can find a great costume here.
Spookley will even be hiding somewhere on the farm. The lucky child who spots Spookley gets to take Spookley home – and Spookley’s book!
This event takes place on Saturday, October 28th, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Since it only takes place one day and they are limiting how many people can attend the event, you’ll need to purchase your ticket ASAP.
