7 Reasons to Stay at Boardwalk Inn at Disney World

If you haven’t stayed at Boardwalk Inn at Walt Disney World yet, then I think you should.  I can almost guarantee that you and your family will love it. There is so much to like about this great hotel.

The only real negative to the hotel is the price, but there are ways around it. I’ve found that Undercover Tourist has great rates for Disney hotels, lower than my passholder discount even.

The other way to save a lot of money is to book a DVC villa at Boardwalk.  You can save a lot more money that way.  And you get the perks of staying at Boardwalk (theming, dining, etc.) plus you’re a closer walk to Hollywood Studios (including the new Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge!).  You can book a DVC villa for a low rate through David’s Vacation Club Rentals.  You can see a video of how to book here:

So I definitely recommend booking your stay there.  And trust me, you won’t regret it.  Today let me focus on 7 reasons why you will love your stay at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn:

1Theming

2Rooms

3Lobby

The rooms and hallways around the hotel are amazing, but the lobby in particular should be referenced as well.  It is one of my favorite lobbies in all of Walt Disney World.  You can see old amusement park rides up all over the lobby, whether it’s a roller coaster replica, a design on a furniture or a painting.  I also really love the facts about amusement parks you can read about all through the lobby and the explanations of the decoration and their significance in history.

4Location

Take a boat ride from Boardwalk Inn hotel to EPCOT & Hollywood Studios Boat transportation to Hollywood Studios from Disney's Boardwalk Inn

The hotel is located extremely close to the EPCOT entrance at the World Showcase.  It’s an easy walk, and one day of my stay my favorite NFL team was on Monday Night Football and I was able to take a nap in the afternoon, walk over to EPCOT and have dinner at Rose & Crown, walk over and do the Frozen ride and then walk back to my room with plenty of time to spare.  You can also walk to Hollywood Studios, though that is a longer walk, so if you don’t want to walk it you can take a boat to Hollywood Studios.  I much prefer this method of transportation to the busses, so it’s nice to not have to take the busses to every Disney park, though of course you can use to get to Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach and Disney Springs.

5Dining Options

Boardwalk Bakery has refillable mug option & great affordable food in Walt Disney World

Upscale sit-down dining options at DIsney's Boardwalk Inn in Orlando Great waterfront dining options bakery pizza seafood at Disney's Boardwalk Inn Get views of boat Yacht & beach club when dining at Disney's Boardwalk Outdoor dining at Disney's Boardwalk Inn beautiful views

The Boardwalk has multiple dining options to fit a variety of tastes & needs.  I would get breakfast from the Boardwalk Bakery (where I could also get my Disney mug refilled!) and sit on one of the tables outside on the Boardwalk, getting wonderful views of the water, the Beach & Yacht Club across the water and the boats going by.  Other places you can buy food or a drink and then grab a table on the boardwalk are the Pizza Window, Ample Hills Creamery and Boardwalk Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas.  If you want a sports bar, you can head over to ESPN Club (which has great food too, by the way).  There’s also other sit-down restaurants like Trattoria al Forno (casual Italian restaurant that also offers a Bon Voyage Breakfast character dining experience where you can get pictures with Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Prince Eric & Ariel) and Flying Fish Café (fine dining).  Basically, there are a lot of options right by your hotel if you stay at the Boardwalk Inn, which is really nice.

6Pool

The pool at Boardwalk Inn, the Luna Park Pool (appropriately named after Luna Park at Coney Island in New York), is awesome. Its carnival and amusement park of the 1920s theme fits completely with the resort of hotel.  The water slide is really cool, too.  One small note, though: if you or your kid or anyone in your party is scared of clowns, then the clown mouth where the slide ends may freak them out.  Otherwise, though, the pool is great.

7The Boardwalk Itself

I can’t talk about the Boardwalk Inn without talking about the Boardwalk, right?  Boardwalk Inn is unique to Disney World because of having the actual Boardwalk.  Not only are there stores and restaurants there, but you can see street performers, such as juggling, balancing acts, magicians, etc.  Also, you can get great views of the fireworks from the Boardwalk!
