Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa in Anaheim, California is a wonderful hotel that everyone wants to stay. But a lot question whether you can afford this luxury hotel.
After all, it is a gorgeous hotel. Seriously, the first time I walked into the lobby, I was very impressed. It has an American Craftsman architectural style inspired by the 20th Century Arts and Crafts Movement. And it really is quite gorgeous.
In addition its beauty, it has a lot of wonderful features, such as great dining, pools, and an onsite spa. But its proximity to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure theme parks are perhaps its best features. I mean, it even has its own special entrance to Disney California Adventure! It also comes with all the perks of being an on-site Disneyland hotel. After all, we ranked it as the best Disneyland hotel here.
But once again – can you afford this hotel! And we think the answer is yes! I talk about it a bit here.
But if you’ve watched that video, you’ll see I promised one hack that will save you the most money, as well as other hacks that save you money on Disney Grand Californian Resort & Spa. So let me stop talking and get to that hack!
1. Book through David’s Vacation Club
Part of the Grand Californian Resort & Spa is a wing with just Disney Vacation Club villas. Now, if you are not a Disney Vacation Club member, you might think you can’t stay there. But the truth is, you still can.
You just have to rent through Disney Vacation Club Members. This might sound complicated but it’s actually not. This is because you can book through David’s Vacation Club and they will take care of the complicated parts and save you a ton of money. I should know; I am not a Disney Vacation Club member and have used David’s a bunch and have had nothing but wonderful experiences! You can learn more about booking DVC stays here.
And again, you can really save hundreds of dollars booking your room that way. I’ve been amazed by how much cheaper I can get hotel stays through that website. It’s the difference between affording a stay at the Grand Californian and maxing out all your credit cards.
But if you are looking for other ways to save money at Disney’s Grand Californian, keep reading.
2. Earn Free Gift Cards
Another way to save money on Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is to get free Disney gift card. Now, how do you do that? Well, first you can earn Swagbucks through things like shopping online, watching videos and taking surveys. You can find out more about how to use Swagbucks here.
You use these Swagbucks to buy Disney gift cards. Then you can use that to book your stay through Disney!
But guess what? You don’t have to just use Disney gift cards for your room. If you want to use the first hack, you can also use these Disney gift cards for your dining. And that will help you save money on a nice restaurant at Grand Californian or really any restaurant throughout the Disneyland Resort. This is what I do, and it really saves me a lot of money.
3. Book through Expedia
If the two above options sounds too complicated, that is absolutely fine, because you can use Expedia to get a discounted rate. They always offer great rates for Disneyland hotels; I have seen them in the past for up to 25% off.
4. Undercover Tourist
Undercover Tourist has helped me save money on lots of Disney hotels & attractions, and the Grand Californian is no different. Definitely check out Undercover Tourist for good rates for Disney’s Grand Californian.
An additional bonus of booking through Undercover Tourist is that you can book your hotel with your Disneyland theme park tickets. And that will save you money.
5. Kayak
Still don’t see a rate you like? You can compare deals on other websites for Grand Californian Hotel & Spa here.
