Today is a very important day, because it marks the beginning of HalloWeekends at Cedar Point theme park in Sandusky, Ohio!

Fall is a fun time of year at Cedar Point.  The theme park and its hotels are decorated for the spooky season.  In fact, you can see for yourself in our video taken at Castaway Bay during the fall (you can find out more about our stay at Castaway Bay here):

And then of course you can enjoy HalloWeekends at Cedar Point.  Halloweekends is a special event that is perfect for guests of all ages.  That is because during the day, it is a family-friendly event with kid-friendly activities.  This is the “Daytime Delights” part of Halloweekends.  But once the sun goes down, the spooks will come out at night.  That is the “Nighttime Frights” part of the event.

I’m going to tell you about each part of the event.  And then I’ll tell you how you can save money on tickets!

Daytime Delights

Daytime Delights take place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.  It runs from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Trick-or-Treating

Trick-or-treating is perhaps the most famous part of Halloween.  So it is only fitting that at Cedar Point’s Halloween event, kids ages twelve years old can trick-or-treat!  There are specific trick-or-treating spots put up throughout the park.  Kids can trick-or-treat one time per visit.

Pumpkin Patch Picking

Another iconic part of Halloween is pumpkins.  And after kids trick-or-treat, they can go to the pumpkin patch at Cedar Point and pick out their own pumpkin!

Pumpkin Decorating

Kids can also decorate their very own pumpkin and then take that home.

Kooky Crafts

Pumpkin decorating isn’t the only artistic activity at Halloweekends.  Artistic kids will enjoy the various fall-themed arts and crafts at Kooky Crafts which includes mask-making and bracelet crafts.

Howlin’ Hay Maze

What’s a good fall festival without a hay maze?  Cedar Point has one for kids ages twelve and under, though adults can accompany them in the maze.

Tricky Hay Maze

This is just like the Howlin’ Hay Maze, just harder to complete.

The Magical House on Boo Hill

This is a walk-through house with delightful surprises.  And once again while this is for kids ages twelve and under, adults are free to accompany their kids on the walk.

Harvest Tractors

Children ages twelve and younger can have fun driving pedal tractors around.

Crazy Corn Box

This special box full of thousands of corn kernels is a fun place for kids ages twelve years and younger.

Monster Makeovers

Cedar Point’s airbrush artists can create a mask for kids using makeup!  Please note this costs an extra fee and is just available for kids up to age twelve.

Ghoulish Game Zone

Halloween-themed midway games are available for an extra fee.

Diggin’ Up Bones

Kids ages twelve and under get to dig up bones in Cedar Point’s special sandbox.  This activity is presented by NJM Insurance.

Boneyard Jamboree

A self-play wall where children ages 12 years old and younger can express themselves musically by using pots, pans, gadgets, and, since this is the spooky season, bones!

The Slime Works

Pick the color you want and create your own slime!  Please note this costs an extra fee.

Spooky Eye Spy

Kids ages twelve years old can enjoy the classic Eye Spy game, just with a Halloween twist!

Indoor Haunted Mazes

The Haunting of Eerie Estate

You are invited to step inside Mr. Midnight’s mysterious (and evil) residence.  Here you will discover the Book of the Dark, a book full of living fears, horrors, and terrors.  See what dark stories Mr. Midnight has written in his book just for you.

Blood Bath

ORPHEUS is a brand new elite private club.  But it is in a seedy and dangerous side of town.  Are you brave enough to enter, especially given that the name of this haunted maze is Blood Bath?

Fearground Freak Show: Seeing Is Believing

Professor Von Fleece wants to show you his collection of sights, delights, and frights that are out of this world.

Slaughter House: You’re Dead Meat

The Spilt & Trails Meat Factory is giving daily tours where you get to see demonstrations by their butchers and how the sausage is made.  That doesn’t sound so bad…or does it?

Outdoor Scare Zones

Clownz Death Metal Tour

The clown-faced rock band “Butchers of Rock” has a lot of die-hard fans.  But can this fandom drive you insane?

Frontier Town has become a ghost town – and not the way you think.  No, I’m talking about undead cowboys taking to the streets.

Cut Throat Cove

The crews of sunken ships are here – and they want you to join them for eternity.

Blood on the Bayou: Into the Fog

The murky waters on this forbidden trail have been infested.  The only question is, what exactly has it been infested with?
