Do you like haunted houses and special Halloween events in the fall?  Then you will be really excited to know that SeaWorld San Diego theme park has a great Halloween event planned for 2023!

This Halloween event is called Howl o’ Scream.  It takes place at night.  They’ve had it before at SeaWorld San Antonio and at Busch Gardens theme parks in Tampa, Florida, and Williamsburg, Virginia.  And they have had it for the last two years in SeaWorld San Diego.  I have been before and it is a really impressive event.

It is very scary, and a different feel from SeaWorld’s San Diego daytime Halloween event, the Halloween Spooktacular.  Which I love and is probably more my speed as I am a bit of a scaredy-cat.  Because this is an event that is aimed at mature audiences.  It is not recommended for children ages 13 years old or younger.  If you want a more kid-friendly event, I definitely recommend the aforementioned Halloween Spooktacular.

But if you like being scared to death, this is definitely the event for you.  I’m going to tell you about some of the attractions here.  And then I am going to tell you how you can save money on tickets here.

Haunted Houses

One of the highlights of this is event is the haunted house.  You’ll go through dark passageways and around dimly lit corners in your attempt to make it out of the haunted house alive!  Haunted houses at Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld San Diego in the past have been:

The Asylum

This haunted house is themed to a secret experimental project that went horribly wrong.  You’ll have to escape the doctor to get out safely!

The Slaughterhouse

The theme of this haunted house is an abandoned meat-packing plant.  This is the haunted house where you will have to escape Simon the Butcher!

Death Water Bayou

Are you ready to enter the dark, murky waters of your nightmares?  Well, you’ll have to learn how to escape them – or else fall the curse of the evil Swamp Witch.

Scare Zones and Roaming Haunts

Once you are out of the haunted house, the terror doesn’t end.  There are scare zones with roaming scary creatures.  The scare zones are themed to scary settings like haunted toy shops and graveyards.  So watch your back, because you never know who (or what) is lurking behind you.

Performances

There’s some great – but scary – entertainment at this event.  In the past, this has included a high-energy musical dance show, zombie DJs, and party zones where you can get in a good dance break.

Rides & Roller Coasters

So as I mentioned before, this event is at night.  That means you can do some of your favorite rides and roller coasters – but at night.  Doing it at night totally changes the experience.  Riding Electric Eel, Journey to Atlantis, or Manta at night gives you a totally different experience.  So that is just one more reason you should buy a ticket to this event.

Coupon

So you might have just noticed I said ticket to this event.  Now, this is different than SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular event.  That is included in the price of SeaWorld San Diego’s admission.  But this event is a different ticket item.  So if you have a fun card or an annual pass, this event will not be included in it.

But you can still save money on these tickets.  The earlier you buy tickets, the more money you save.  Click here to get early bird pricing for SeaWorld San Diego’s Howl-o-Scream event.

If you are planning on going more than once, then you will save money by buying an Unlimited Howl-O-Scream ticket.  That ticket gives you admission to all the select nights of this event.  Click here to book this ticket.
