It’s got wonderful roller coasters for the thrill seekers in your family. For example, its Mystic Timbers ride was voted the best new ride by Amusement Today in 2017. The Beast holds the Guinness World Record for the longest wooden roller coaster and recently won a Golden Ticket Award in 2024 as one of the top three wooden roller coasters.
 
And if you get hot, cool off at Soak City Water Park, which has 50 water activities. Admission is included in your ticket to Kings Island!
 
If you have younger kids and are concerned the park is just wild rides for older kids, don’t worry. There are plenty of PEANUTS-themed children’s rides and attractions.

Are there any new attractions coming to Kings Island in 2026?

I am glad you asked, because there is a new exciting ride: Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare.  This is an interactive dark ride that is a reimaging of the popular Phantom Theater ride that was at Kings Island from 1992 to 2002.  Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare takes over where the Boo Blasters on Boo Hill ride used to be, and there are similarities to that ride as well.

Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare takes place in a haunted opera-house.  Guests riding in enchanted opera boxes equipped with special flashlights must help “No Legs Larry” capture musical spirits.  The ride takes you through backstage areas, dressing rooms, and even a boiler room.  Fans of the original Phantom Theater ride will be happy to know they are bringing back popular animatronics like Houdelini, Maestro, and the Great Garbonzo.

The ride debuted back on April 18th, so if you haven’t been to the park this season, now is the time to visit so you can try this new attraction!
