Mardi Gras is headed north this year.  Like, about as north as you can get.  Because Mardi Gras is headed to the Arctic!

Now, full disclosure, I do not mean the actual Arctic.  I am actually referring to the Wild Arctic Plaza at SeaWorld Orlando!

That is because this year, SeaWorld Orlando is holding a Mardi Gras special event!

It runs from February 25, 2022, through March 6, 2022.  It actually runs at the same time as one of my favorite SeaWorld festivals, the Seven Seas Food Festival.

And an exciting thing about this festival is that during this time period, it runs every single day.  A lot of SeaWorld festivals just run on the weekends, so it is exciting it also runs during the week.

We’re going to go over some of what you’ll get to experience while you are there.  And then we’ll tell you how you can save money on a ticket!

Pop-Up Parade

What is Mardi Gras without a parade?  Well, you can see a special pop-up parade at the Wild Arctic Plaza!  You’ll see entertainers, stilt walkers, musicians, and bead captains in this exciting new experience.  It takes place at select times from 12:30 PM to 6:00 PM.

Street Party

Also, what is Mardi Gras without partying?  There will be a street party at the Wild Arctic Plaza with a Bourbon Street flavor.  There’s going to be a DJ, street performers, and a physically distant dance party.  This also takes place at select times from 12:30 PM to 6:00 PM.

Live Music

When I think of New Orleans, I think of great music.  So it is only fitting in a Mardi Gras celebration that there is live music!  A live band will play Cajun and jazz classics at the Wild Arctic Plaza.  You get to hear this great music at select times from 12:30 PM to 6:00 PM.

Gulf Coast Flavors

And finally, when I think of New Orleans, I also think of delicious food.  And there is definitely delicious food at SeaWorld Orlando’s Mardi Gras Celebration!

Because you know how I mentioned it goes on at the same time as the Seven Seas Food Festival?  Well, one of the food markets at the festival is a Gulf Coast Market!  And it is at the Wild Arctic Plaza.  It is open from 11:30 AM to park close.  So while you are there, you can eat some delicious New Orleans-inspired food and get some great drinks, too!

Here are some of the dishes here.  My personal favorite is the beignets.  But there is a lot of good stuff here!

Gulf Gumbo

This New Orleans classic dish has Shrimp, Sausage, and Cajun Broth.

Bourbon BBQ Smoked Pork Po’ Boy

The Bourbon BBQ Smoked Pork Po’ Boy comes with Crisp Lettuce & Pickles.

Beignets

You can get a Traditional Beignet with Powdered Sugar.  Or you can get a Rum Glazed Bananas Foster Beignet!

Craft Brews

The Craft Brews available at the Gulf Coast Market are

  • Mango Wit Wheat from Proof Brewing Company in Tallahassee, Florida
  • Turbodog Brown Ale from Abita Brewing Company in Covington, Louisiana

Specialty Cocktail

You can get a Frozen Hurricane that has Flor de Caña Rum, Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum,
Passion Fruit & Orange.

Discount Tickets

So I am sure you didn’t forget that I was going to tell you about how to get a discounted ticket!

So unlike Howl-o-Scream at SeaWorld Orlando, the Mardi Gras event does not require a separate ticket.  You can attend both Mardi Gras and the Seven Seas Food Festival with a regular admission ticket to SeaWorld.

And you can get this at a discount by clicking here.
