One of my favorite things about theme parks like Universal Studios Orlando is the feeling that you can step inside the movies. This fall, you can do it without even leaving your hotel at the Stranger Things Pop Up at Cabana Bay Beach Resort!

The pop-up is an amazing experience that really makes you feel as if you’re right there inside two specific settings from the tv show – the Byers’ living room (from Season One) and Scoops Ahoy (from Season Three).

This fun pop up is located on the second floor of Cabana Bay and is open from 2:00-10:00 pm daily now through October 31. The experience is free and is open to all guests staying at a Universal Orlando hotel. Cabana Bay guests do get priority (although when we attended, there was just one line for guests staying at any of the Universal hotels).

You enter one group at a time, so that you’ll have plenty of opportunities for photos and enjoying the experience. As mentioned, you’ll step inside the living room of the Byers house and see Joyce’s Christmas lights and alphabet on the wall.

The attention to detail is incredible, staying true to both the era (such as the soap opera magazine) and the show (like Mike Wheeler’s Student ID card).

In the Scoops Ahoy section, there’s a cutout so that you can pose as Steve Harrington or Robin Buckley (in their work outfits, of course).

Be sure to watch until the end for a special appearance from a certain creature.  Here’s a hint:

Really, though, other than the Demogorgon part, the pop up is not a scary experience. (And if there is anyone in your party who you think might be scared by that part, they could close their eyes – or you could cover them – once someone presses the button in the ashtray on the table.)

If you’re looking for even more Stranger Things on your Universal Orlando trip this Halloween season, then you definitely want to check out the Stranger Things haunted house at Halloween Horror Nights.
