Your surf lesson starts on the beach. Your instructor shows you how to handle the surfboard, paddle out, catch waves, and stand up.
After that, your lesson takes place in waist-deep water as a safety precaution since you are a beginner. The lessons are done in a friendly environment to help you gain confidence. The surfing class takes about two hours.
