Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience is an exhibition that has been in various locations worldwide. In fact, there have been exhibits in 11 different cities over 4 different continents. Over 2 million visitors have participated!
Right now, it is at YMCA Camp Duncan in Ingleside, Illinois, between Chicago and Milwaukee. It will be there through January 3, 2026. So make sure you visit ASAP before this event leaves Chicago, because no spell out there will bring it back!
What Do You Do at Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience?
This is an interactive experience where you’ll feel like you’re not just watching the movies, but you’re in them! Some of what you can do at the event includes:
- Walk through a wooded trail with interactive elements
- Use a wand to cast spells – and conjure a Patronus!
- Feel as if you’ve stepped inside famous scenes from the movies
- Come face-to-face with creatures from the Harry Potter & Fantastic Beasts movies, including:
- Hippogriff
- Niffler
- Unicorn
The entire experience lasts around an hour to an hour and a half.
