When I think of winter in New York City, I think of the Rockefeller Center. There is something so iconic about ice skating at the ice rink at the Rockefeller Center.
The Rockefeller Ice Rink has been a staple of New York City since it first opened in 1936. It was initially conceived because, despite the famous Rockefeller Christmas Tree and year-round shops, guests were not taking the time to walk down the stairs to go the plaza. So they proposed a temporary “skating pond” to get them to do so. But then it became such a hit bit, the skating rink became a permanent addition. Now both New York City residents as well as tourists love it.
And now if you are traveling to New York City this winter, this is something you’re going to want to do. After all, not everyone can say they’ve skated at the Rockefeller Center. It’s an experience you’ll never forget.

But I’m sure you’d love a coupon as a way to help you save money on this experience. And as far as saving money on your ticket, there are a couple of ways to go.
The first thing is to purchase the Sightseeing Pass. The Sightseeing Pass gets you unlimited admission into over 150 New York City attractions. You can purchase the pass depending on how long your trip is (1 day, 2 day, 3 days, etc.). These are top attractions like the Big Bus Tour, the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island Roundtrip Ferry Tour, the Top of the Rock Observation Deck at Rockefeller Cente, and more.
And of course, it includes ice skating at the Rockefeller Center. So if you are planning on doing other NYC attractions during your trip, then you’ll save money by purchasing this pass. By paying just for the pass, you save so much money versus purchasing admission to all the attractions individually. Plus, the Sightseeing Pass is currently on sale for up to 28%.
But if you only are looking to save money on ice skating, then you can save money by choosing an offpeak date. See, you can purchase a pass for a specific day, but your cost will depend on the day. For example, if you want to go ice skating this Saturday, a pass costs $49. But if you do it on Saturday, January 20th, then you only have to pay $32. So if you have any flexibility in your travel, choose a cheaper date. You can find these cheaper tickets here.
