Built in 1897, the Daffodale House Bed & Breakfast in Monticello, Florida, is an excellent example of Victorian architecture. Surrounded by giant oaks and camellias, it has a lovely exterior and delightfully decorated interior. And it is haunted.
After moving in, the current owner noticed hearing strange music on occasion and the aroma of a pipe when no one was smoking. And the lights turned on and off by themselves.
A woman has been seen hovering over the bed in the Safari Room. That room is said to be the most haunted in the house.
Another woman dressed entirely in white clothes of the Victorian era has been seen roaming the grounds at night.
Many people have reported seeing faces in mirrors and windows that are not theirs. Photos have captured many of these apparitions.
The Daffodale House has been investigated by more than one team of paranormal experts. One team found that most of the paranormal activity occurred in the attic. Another team sensed the presence of a ghostly family with a young child.
Monticello, Florida, is said to be one of the most haunted small towns in the South. The Daffodale House isn’t the only house in the town that is said to be haunted, but it is considered to be the most haunted. Monticello has one of the highest Indian mounds in the country, dating back over one thousand years.
