I don’t know if you’ve noticed but Las Vegas has been, well, very hot this summer.  So hot that you may think you can’t leave your house or hotel.

But you don’t want to be cooped up inside forever.  One way to enjoy the outdoors while not getting to hot is to spend time outdoors but in the water.

And you can do at Cowabunga Canyon Water Park!  Cowabunga Canyon is located in Summerlin, a Las Vegas Valley community in Southern Nevada.  It is a wonderful place to spend time this summer.

I want to tell you about some of the great attractions at Cowabunga Canyon that make it such an appealing travel excursion.  Then I’ll tell you how you can save money on your ticket!

Attractions

Boomer Wrangler

This is a two-rider white-water raft ride with a lot of thrills.  A highlight of this attraction is the unexpected 57-foot drop.

Deuce’s Wild

Thrillseekers will also love Deuce’s Wild which, as the name might imply, can get quite wild.  That is because of its unique “launch capsule” which features a trap door that drops out from below – and that is where the thrills begin!

The Lone Ranger

The Long Ranger is an enclosed tube ride where you’ll go round and round and even get dropped into a giant bowl.

Hi-Ho Silver

Hi-Ho Silver is a multi-person raft ride with some of the tightest turns of any other water slide.  It features a series of corkscrew turns and speeds of up to 18 miles per hour.

Texas Tornado

Texas Tornado is a four-person raft ride where you will experience zero gravity or weightlessness as your raft sweeps up the wall.

Dust Bowl

Dust Bowl is a two-rider tube ride where you and a partner get dropped into a giant bowl before you’re flushed down the center and then into the splash down below.

Boot, Scoot & Boogie

Boot, Scoot & Boogie are three different slides that are intertwined.  They all feature drops, turns, dips, and a lot of thrills.

Ricochet Racer

If you are competitive, you will love racing your friends or family on this 360-foot raceway.  There are six lanes for racing and you can slide face-first at speeds of over 20 feet per second before splashing into a pool below.

Buckaroo Bay

If you are worried this waterpark catered too much to older children and teens, don’t worry.  There is something fun for the younger guests, too.  Like Buckaroo Bay, which has three slides made for the smaller guests.

Piñata Falls

Piñata Falls is also an attraction designed for younger guests.  It is an aquatic, multi-level playground sprawled out over 10,500 square feet.  There are colorful, interactive elements including eleven slides, geysers, spray guns, and a gigantic tipping bucket that spills water at timed intervals throughout the day.

Cactus Creek

There’s also something for older guests who want relaxation but perhaps not all the thrills.  Cactus Creek is great for those guests and guests who love the thrills but also like relaxation as part of their day.  Cactus Creek, you see, is a 1,100-foot lazy river.

Cadillac Shores Wave Pool

Kids and adults can enjoy a wave pool that will make you feel you’ve left the desert and entered the ocean!  Waves start every fifteen minutes, and children under 48″ will need to wear a lifejacket.
