The Dia de Los Muertos Festival is coming to downtown Chandler, Arizona, on November 1, 2019. The Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday to honor their deceased loved ones. People make colorful altars (ofrendas) that honor those who have passed away. The altars are decorated with pictures, candles, colorful flowers and more. The Chandler Police and Fire Departments will have a large altar to pay tribute to fallen firefighters and police officers. The evening will end with a procession to celebrate the loved ones.
During this festive celebration, there will be historical exhibits and Hispanic performers. You’ll receive an embossed tasting glass and 25 tastings to use at tasting stations with craft beers, margaritas, mojitos, sangrias and craft cocktails. There will also be a cash bar. Food trucks will be their as well as artisan vendors and cultural vendors. While sipping beers or cocktails, you can listen to great Hispanic music and watch live performances.
