It’s time to celebrate Portuguese heritage and culture in the Bay Area while watching a great baseball game at the same time.  Yes, that’s right: it’s time for the ninth annual San Francisco Giants Portuguese Heritage Night!

The Northern California Portuguese community and organizations have partnered with the SF Giants to make this night really special.  In fact, partial proceeds from the special ticket package for this event benefit local Portuguese organizations (more about this special ticket package later).

The event takes place on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 6:45 PM.  This is when the Giants play the San Diego Padres in a great National League West matchup.  So it’ll be a fun game in its own right.

But remember that special ticket package I mentioned earlier?  Well, if you purchase it, you’ll get a ticket for this game.  But then you’ll also get a free San Francisco Giants Portuguese Heritage Night Beanie!  You can purchase this ticket package here.  Tickets start as $16 per person.

But you’ll need to make sure to purchase this ticket ASAP.  Ticket packages like these typically set out quickly.

If they do, though, you still can go to the game and enjoy the festivities.  You can find cheap tickets as low as $11 per person here.  You just won’t get the free beanie.

SF Giants Portuguese Heritage Night At Home

Is one Portuguese Heritage Night not enough for you?  Well, how about giving yourself multiple SF Giants Portuguese Heritage Nights at home?  You can do that by watching the Giants’ games at home and eating some Portuguese food.  You can even do this on Giants’ away games!

You can find some great Portuguese recipes here.  And if you don’t want to cook yourself, consider ordering from Grubstake Diner.  This Polk-Gulch neighborhood favorite pays homage to owner Fernando Santos’ Portuguese heritage in its menu.  And you can order delivery from Grubstake Diner here.
