Bad news for anyone who wants to go to Disney World: Disney has decided to increase the prices of food. And I know what you may be thinking. Didn’t Disney also increase the prices of tickets? Yes, they did. So now there’s more than one thing that’s more expensive at Disney, and it’s not exactly like Disney was cheap to begin with.
So, you may be wondering: What has increased? Well, let’s take a look.
You can see how on Chef Mickey’s website, it says the breakfast menu goes to $59.99 per adult. But if you click on “View Menu” and you look at the pricing for breakfast, it’s $62 per adult. So, not a huge increase, but these things kind of add up. Especially because character dining is quite popular. We love Chef Mickey’s character breakfast; we reviewed the breakfast here.
Now, even so, you may be thinking, “I don’t want to do a character breakfast; I’m going to try to do quick-service options to save money.” Well, bad news: prices have increased there, too.
So, let’s take a look at The Sand Bar. That is a quick-service restaurant at the Contemporary. We wrote a review for it this year, and we included the menu. And as you can see, they have a Cuban sandwich, which by the way is really good, and it cost $12.99.
Now if you go to the website of Sand Bar and look at the menu. And you can see there’s a Cuban sandwich for $13.99. So, a dollar increase.
Now, again, this is not a gigantic increase, but again, these dollars add up when you’re paying for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Disney World. And the uncomfortable truth about these pricing changes is that it comes at a time where, let’s face it: we’re all broke AF. We don’t need to be spending any more money at Disney than we already do, but we’re all kind of hooked, and we want to keep visiting.
So, how do we do that? Well, luckily, we have come up with a number of hacks that can save money on your overall vacation so that you can still keep with your Disney obsession, keep visiting Disney World, but have the money to do it.
So what you can do is check out our blog entry about Disney World money saving hacks. There, we tell you some tips and some things you can do to save money on your overall trips—not just food and drinks or tickets, though we have tips for that, but also hotels. The hotels one is where you can really save money—like we’re talking overall around a thousand dollars off your overall hotel price.
And not just saving money, but we also tell you a way that you can earn money for Disney gift cards just by playing games on your phone and stuff like that. That one really helps because I like using those Disney gift cards when I’m at the park for food, and that will really help balance out the price increase for food. Because if it’s just, you know, you use a Disney gift card for your breakfast, now you’re only paying for lunch and dinner, and that just makes the whole trip a lot more affordable.
So, once again, you need to visit Green Vacation Deals and check out our Disney World Money Saving Hacks, and then you’ll be able to afford a trip to Disney World, even with these price increases.
