It’s time to celebrate Mardi Gras in Williamsburg, Virginia! We are days away from the annual Mardi Gras event at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. We want to give you an overview of what you can expect at this festive event.
Dates & Times
Busch Gardens Mardi Gras begins on Friday, January 30, 2026.
It will then run on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (as well as Presidents’ Day) through March 9th.
On Fridays, the park will be open from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The park hours for Saturdays, Sundays, and Presidents’ Day will be 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Food & Drinks
There are eight special locations throughout the park where you can get Mardi Gras inspired treats, eats, and drinks. This includes Cajun and New Orleans favorites like Po’boys, Gumbo, Hurricanes, and (my personal favorite) Beignets!
Busch Gardens Mardi Gras Entertainment
Part of what makes this event special is New Orleans-style, family-friendly entertainment,
Carnaval Imaginique
Carnaval Imaginique is a cirque show with a New Orleans theme. Like all great cirque shows, there’s great acrobatics, dancing, and singing. The show takes place at the Globe Theatre over in Busch Gardens’ England section. You’re only able to see this show during the Busch Gardens Mardi Gras event.
Encore On Bourbon Street
Brand new in 2026 Encore on Bourbon Street! This is a feel‑good show featuring live music and dynamic vocalists. It takes place at the San Marco Theater.
The King’s Krewe Festival
Also new in 2026 is the King’s Krewe Festival. Here you can enjoy interactive fun with the King, Queen, and Jesters. This includes games, photo opportunities, and, of course, lots of beads!
The Big Easy Bash
Here is something else that is new for 2026! You can expect talented performers, music, and dance. The party never stops here!
New Orleans Brass Jazz Band
If you love New Orleans jazz music like I do, you’ll definitely want to catch a performance by this brass band at Das Festhaus in Oktoberfest.
