You’ll check in, be fitted for your gear and then step aboard for an incredible moonlight adventure.  Your boat will be a fun, fast and safe catamaran designed for open ocean conditions.  All their boats are operated by experienced United States Coast Guard licensed captains.  

Your knowledgeable guide will tell you about manta rays and the other fish and marine animals  you might also see,  The Hawaiian name for manta ray is Hahalua.  They are among the largest fish in the ocean.  Despite their large size, they are very graceful, speeding through the water like a massive bird in flight.  Manta is a Spanish word for blanket or cloak.  When swimming, the manta ray looks like a cape when it’s spread out.  You can listen to anecdotes about manta ray encounters.

Take in the breathtaking coastal views as you travel to the manta site.  You’ll watch a spectacular Kona sunset fill the sky with brilliant colors as the sun slowly sinks into the water.  

And then you’ll slip into the water to snorkel with the manta rays.  The manta rays will swim within inches of you and turn over underneath you.  It is an amazing adventure to be swimming with these gentle and beautiful marine creatures.  The mantas are so graceful and acrobatic and fun to watch and even more fun to swim beside them.  Where else can you have large manta rays doing barrel rolls under you?  See them glide by you and then start doing flips.  An awe-inspiring experience!

Included in your ticket will be snorkel, mask, optional safety jacket and wetsuit top.  You’ll receive complimentary bottled water, light refreshments and snacks.  GoPro rentals are available (first come, first serve) and you can purchase an underwater disposable camera.  

You’ll need to be wearing your swimsuit and bring a towel and a change of clothes,  You can take a warm shower on the boat.  It is recommended that you bring a warm jacket or sweatshirt and over the counter motion sickness medication.

The stars over the ocean are brilliant at night.  Enjoy a fun moonlight boat ride back to the dock at Kailua Kona.
