In the heart of the scenic Finger Lakes region, Geneva, New York, is on the northern end of Seneca Lake. With several miles of shoreline along the lake, Geneva is a culinary destination, offering many farm-to-market restaurants, specialty food stores, and farm markets.
European immigrants began settling in the area in the late 18th century and Geneva was incorporated in 1806. It is home to Hobart & William Smith Colleges, two liberal arts colleges for men and women. The Smith Opera House, built in 1894, is one of the oldest operating performing arts theaters in the U.S.
If you’d like to get close to the water, a 2 ½ mile pedestrian and bicyclist path stretches from the Ramada General Lakefront east to Seneca Lake State Park passing by the Finger Lakes Welcome Center.
Geneva was named an All-American City in 2015. It has been on the Playful City USA list for several years.

Craft breweries, Cideries, and distilleries have also been making a name for themselves in the Finger Lake region.
