One of the reason I used to love staying at Disney World on-site hotels is because there are no parking fees, which in some cases make staying there more affordable than other hotels in the Orlando, Florida area.  But this is no longer the case.

In case you haven’t heard, Disney has announced that they will now be charging parking fees at their hotels:

  • Disney Value Resorts: $13/night
    • All Star Music Resort
    • All Star Movie Resort
    • All Star Sports Resort
    • Pop Century
    • Art of Animation Resort
  • Disney Moderate Resorts: $19/night
    • Caribbean Beach Resort
    • Port Orleans Resort-Riverside
    • Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter
    • Coronado Springs Resort
    • The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
  • Disney Deluxe Resorts & Disney Deluxe Villas: $24/night
    • Animal Kingdom Lodge
    • Yacht Club
    • Beach Club
    • Old Key West Resort
    • Saratoga Springs Resort
    • Grand Floridian
    • Polynesian Village
    • Contemporary Resort
    • Boardwalk Inn
    • Wilderness Lodge

Luckily, there is a way to stay at a Disney resort without having to pay the parking fee.  That way is to book your stay by renting DVC points (please watch this video to see how to rent points and see here for more information on renting DVC points).  Disney resorts with DVC villas are:

  • Grand Floridian
  • Polynesian Village
  • Bay Lake Tower at Contemporary Resort
  • Old Key West
  • Saratoga Springs
  • Animal Kingdom Lodge
  • Beach Club
  • Boardwalk
  • Boulder Ridge Villas at Wilderness Lodge
  • Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Wilderness Lodge

If you plan to stay at one of the Disney resorts this way, then I recommend booking through David’s Vacation Club Rentals.  In the past couple of months, I have used David’s to book a stay at both the Polynesian Resort & Bay Lake Tower at Contemporary Resort.  I paid less than $300/night both times and had a great experience (and in case you’re wondering how I liked these resorts, see here for my Polynesian vs. Bay Lake Tower comparison).

There was already a great financial reason to book through David’s rather than book through Disney’s website, but now with these extra parking fees, there’s even more reason for me.  So I highly recommend that next time you plan your vacation to Disney, check out David’s website first!
