Can you believe September is already here?  And that means that Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld San Antonio is about to open!  In fact, it begins on September 15, 2023.  It will be open Friday, Saturday, & Sunday throughout September and October starting at 7:00 PM.  And whether you’ve visited in the past or you’ve never been before, you’re going to want to go this year.  It’s even better, with returning favorite haunted houses, new haunted houses, and other scary attractions.

We’ll tell you about all of the attractions, how to upgrade and make your experience even better, and how to save money on your tickets.

Haunted Houses

Haunted houses are like mazes you have to find a way out of.  There are six haunted houses this year at SeaWorld Howl-O-Scream San Antonio.  Four are returning favorites and two are brand new.

Atlantis – The Cursed Chasm

There’s a lot that’s been said about the legend of the cursed charm.  Some believe it allows outsiders in.  But it also frees timeless evil that was previously contained.  And now that it is open again, the sirens could curse anyone passing through to suffer the same fate.  Can you get through unscathed?  This, by the way, is a returning haunted house for 2023!

Dis-Assembly Line

Here is another all-new haunted house at Howl-O-Scream San Antonio!

You find yourself at a gruesome assembly line.  Can you escape and warn others?  Or will you be the machine’s latest victim?

Zombie Horde

Zombie Horde is a returning favorite haunted house.  The premise behind this popular haunted house is that a so-called accident has condemned a small town into the home of the undead.

The Swamp at Blackwater Bayou

The Voodoo host is back this year in this returning favorite haunted house – and he’s brought his evil minions with him.

Milton Creek Manor

The good news?  Your room is ready at Milton Creek Manor.  The bad news?  You have to share it with others.  The even worse news?  Those others are evil spirits!

Bunny Bradley’s Ice Cream Shoppe

Bunny Bradley’s Ice Cream Shoppe is not your average ice cream shop.  They get their ingredients from let’s just say questionable sources.  Let’s just make sure your screams don’t become a part of it!

By the way, this is brand new for 2023!

TERROR-tories

TERROR-tories are areas throughout the park where a scary creature might jump out and scare you.

Water’s Edge

The premise here is screams in the night have woken up the Sirens from the depths of the Water’s Edge.  Now they want revenge on the trespassers.

Nightmare Midway

Nightmare Midway is a brand new TERROR-tory for 2023.  Not much is known yet about this terror-tory, but let’s just say if clowns keep you up at night, then this may be an area you want to avoid!

The SINdustry District

The SINdustry District is returning favorite TERROR-tory that is also not your typical TERROR-tory.  That is because it is also a place to enjoy a drink and watch amazing acrobats perform.

Vampire Point

Vampire Point is a returning terror-tory featuring (what else?) vampires!

Zombie Zone

Zombie Zone is another returning favorite terror-tory.  This one is full of the undead.

Blackwater Bayou

The creatures and mystical powers of this TERROR-tory are back.  This might sound fun but here’s the thing.  Once you enter, you may never leave!

Ripper Row

Ripper Row is another returning TERROR-tory.  Don’t let her fool you – she has very bad intentions!

Themed Bars

The residents of Vampire Point might be thirsty for blood.  But I bet you’ll get thirsty for adult beverages.  There are plenty of themed bars with great drinks for those guests 21 years old and older.

  • Liquid Voodoo
  • Scorched (located in the SINdustry District)
  • Blood Thirsty (located at Vampire Point)
  • Z-Bar
  • Ripped

Monster Stomp

Howl-O-Scream also has a great show: Monster Stomp.  It takes place at Nautilus Theater.

This show is set in Victorian-era London, where Jack the Ripper walks the street.  But this time you’ll get to see him in a way people back then probably did not.  He’ll be taking the stage, performing in a modern rock and rhythm show with electrifying percussion, singing, and dancing.  You’ll be dying to catch this darkly entertaining performance.

Sirens Song

Monster Stomp isn’t the only great show this year at Howl-O-Scream!  Sirens will be returning to the Water’s Edge and this time, they’ll do a spine-chilling pathway performance.  They’ll howl and scream the night as they seek revenge on, well, all living souls really.

Roller Coasters in the Dark

You may have done the fun roller coasters at SeaWorld San Antonio during the day.  But have you ever done them at night?  It’s a whole new experience when you do it at night.
