Our SeaWorld San Diego Halloween Spooktacular 2026 Guide tells you about what to expect at this kid-friendly event, including my family’s favorite activities.
My family has attended the Halloween Spooktacular in San Diego in the past and we had a wonderful time. It takes place on the weekends (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays). It starts on September 11, 2026, and runs through November 1, 2026.
I want to tell you all the fun activities you can enjoy here. And then I’ll tell you how you can save money on your tickets (spoiler alert: you can learn about discounted tickets here).
Trick-Or-Treating
Looking for a fun place to trick-or-treat this year? Then look no further than SeaWorld San Diego! You can trick-or-treat at Captain Sweet Tooth’s Candy Trail.
I really love trick-or-treating at a theme park. It is a fun, safe way to enjoy all the fun of trick-or-treating.
Trick-or-treating takes place from after 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Fridays and after 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturdays & Sundays.
Please note that in order to participate in trick-or-treating, you must use a SeaWorld reusable trick-or-treating bag. You can purchase them for just $4.99 at any retail location throughout the park. You can get a discount on this price, too, if you are a SeaWorld annual pass member, which we talk about in our SeaWorld discount ticket guide.
Halloween Costumes
One fun thing about the event is that you can wear a Halloween costume to the event! This includes children and children at heart!
Please note, however, that guests who are ages 13 and older may not wear costume masks or hoods. Face painting is also not permitted on any guests unless it takes place at the park by park artists. Also, all costumes are still subject to the normal dress code for the park.
Trick-or-Treat with Baby Shark Show
Trick-or-Treat with Baby Shark is a brand new show at SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular! It takes place at Mission Bay Theater. It stars Pinkfong and the popular Baby Shark family. Families can sing and dance in this show that is exclusive to SeaWorld San Diego.
Character Meet & Greets
Get photos with Baby Shark, Pinkfong, and other bubbly characters in this brand-new character meet & greet experience!
Dia de los Muertos
So remember when I talked about how I was going to tell you my family’s favorite part? This is it!
See, the Halloween Spooktacular doesn’t just celebrate Halloween, but it also celebrates the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos, too. Their Dia de los Muertos celebrates features gigantic, beautifully dressed Catrina statues and ofrendas (offerings) of mementos and flowers honoring loved ones who have passed away.
This takes place from October 31, 2026 through November 1, 2026.
Waterfront Pumpkin Patch
What could make a pumpkin patch better? How about one with gorgeous views of Mission Bay?
You can find that at the Waterfront Pumpkin Patch, where there’s also festive Halloween decorations, photo opportunities, food, and roaming live music. You can find this at the back of the park.
Coral Candy Club
The Coral Candy Club is a brand new attraction at SeaWorld San Diego Halloween Spooktacular. It takes place at the SkyTower Lawn. It’s a family-friendly dance party featuring appearances by Tabitha Taffy and music from DJ Cotton Candy.
Pirate Sea Shanty Band
Sing and dance yourself alongside the Scurvy Squad. This takes place at various locations throughout the day, including Shipwreck Pathway and the Waterfront Pumpkin Patch.
Spookley Dance Party
But that’s not the only dance party here! Spookley the Square Pumpkin and Jack Scarecrow star at this dance party, so in addition to dancing there are photo opportunities here. This dance party is located near the Waterfront area.
Meet a Mermaid
And finally, you can even meet a mermaid at SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular! This is an immersive experience at Rescue Jr.
Discounted Halloween Spooktacular Tickets
One great thing about SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular celebration is that since it is during regular park hours, it is included in the cost of admission!
Once again, you can find out how to get discounted SeaWorld tickets here.
