There are so many fun things to do when you visit the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.  There are the resort’s four main theme parks: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios.

But the Walt Disney World Resort also has two world-class waterparks.  At Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, you’ll enjoy a tropical paradise that was transformed by a typhoon (or so Disney legend says) into pure fun with water slides, beaches and one of the world’s largest outdoor wave pools.  Disney’s Blizzard Beach is themed like a ski resort with winter-themed water slides, lazy river, pools & more.  We go into a lot more detail about Typhoon Lagoon in our Typhoon Lagoon Travel Guide.

If you would like to visit one of these parks during a Walt Disney World trip, then you should be aware that admission is not covered in a regular Disney World park hopper ticket.  If you are worried that visiting these water parks on top of your already expensive Disney World tickets will be too much money, well, stop worrying and keep reading.  Because there are ways of visiting these water parks without spending too much money.

1. Stay Onsite at a Disney Hotel

The first way to save money is exciting because this is a brand new way.  We recently mentioned it when discussing changes that were coming to Disney World in 2025.

Starting in 2025, guests who stay onsite at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel get free water park tickets for everyone staying in the room!  You’ll get to visit either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach on the day you check in.  Depending on the time of the year you visit, only one waterpark may be open which sort of makes your choice for you.

You can learn more about staying onsite at a Disney hotel here.

2. Purchase Tickets Through Undercover Tourist

My family has purchased tickets through Undercover Tourist numerous times.  They are a trusted website that provides discounted tickets to guests.

You can find discounted prices for Disney water parks here.  You can purchase your water park tickets along with your theme park tickets with these ticket options:

How to save big on your dream Disney vacation
  • Disney Theme Park Base Ticket with Water Park and Sports Option
  • Disney Theme Park Ticket with Park Hopper Plus Option

Park hopper will let you visit multiple parks in one day.  A base ticket means you can visit just one park per day.

These tickets are on sale on Undercover Tourist’s website.

But you can also purchase discounted tickets for just the water parks through Undercover Tourist.  This could be helpful if you already have tickets to the theme parks.  These tickets get you one water park per day (no park hopping).  Once again, you can find these discounted tickets here.

And one additional way to save even more money through Undercover Tourist is to purchase your tickets alongside a hotel stay for additional savings.

3. Purchase Tickets Through Tripster

You can also get discounted Disney World tickets through Tripster.  Tripster is another website my family has used to purchase our theme park tickets.

You can book the tickets along with your hotel and save more money that way.  This can be good if you want to stay offsite.

I would say in general ticket prices are cheaper on Undercover Tourist, but this can vary depending on the tickets you want.  As a good rule of thumb, I would say if you really want the cheapest price, check out both websites and put the tickets you want in your cart and then compare the two prices so you can make sure you truly are getting the lowest price (those extra fees they add on at the end can really make a difference).

4. Purchase a Disney World Annual Pass

If you plan on visiting the waterparks multiple times a year, then you can save money by purchasing an annual pass.  It is more expensive than a regular ticket, but overtime it will save you money rather than buying tickets every time you visit.  You can add a water park option onto your annual pass.

Or you can consider getting an annual pass for just the water parks.  This is a good option if Disney’s water parks are your favorite part of a Disney trip.

5. Purchase Disney Magic Tickets

Now, this ticket option is only available if you are a resident of the United Kingdom or Ireland.  But if you are, you can get the water parks included in your Disney Magic Ticket.  And you can find out about a discount for the Disney Magic Tickets here.
